Beautiful, Miserable Panoramic Highway Ride

To step up my training for the World's Toughest Half, I went on a 50 mile out-and-back climb through Mt. Tamalpais State Park yesterday.  From the base of Tamalpais Valley, you basically climb for 12 miles up Mt. Tam, over Pan Toll Rd and Ridgecrest Blvd to the top, followed by a windy descent down Bolinas-Fairfax Rd to the turnaround near Alpine Lake.  You have to climb back to the top of Ridgecrest before flying downhill from Tam to Sausalito and back to SF.   It was beautiful but it wasn't that fun of a ride because so much time was spent climbing or in a very technical descent.  I will try this again this week and maybe climb out via Stinson Beach.

Looking forward to the misery.  No pain, no pain.
