Possibly our best dinner of the Argentina trip was a special private dining experience at Casa Felix, the home of up-and-coming Chef Diego Felix and his girlfriend Sandra. Our friend Damian researched the restaurant, set up the reservation and then had to bail because he was sick in Santiago, unable to fly. By the end of the night though he was well regarded by several people he had never met, because his recommendation was just so superb. The meal was a five course prix fixe featuring fish alongside a number of vegetarian dishes. Diego Felix prepares all his dishes with local herbs and spices of which he learned while growing up in his pharmacist/herbalist mother's vegetarian household. Many of these exotic ingredients he grows in his backyard garden. I included some pictures of the hand drawn menu so you can see what was in the weird looking dishes. I assure you everything was delicious.
