Been listening to Death Cab's latest, Narrow Stairs this
weekend. Its pretty good.
I feel the first single, "I Will Possess Your Heart" 's much
criticized long intro (4:31) actually serves the song/album
well. The music and lyrics of the song are assertive which is
refreshing because in my opinion, much of Death Cab's music is an
exercise in catharsis. Not that I don't like that catharsis,
its one of my favorite aspects of their stuff and has certainly
helped me during some more lonesome times of my life.
However, I also really like songs that are on a mission, like this
one.
