Last night I was having trouble publishing my last post because GMail didn't like that I was trying to upload 31 pictures to it. Not only was using GMail here very time consuming (unlike Flickr, it has seemingly no way to attach multiple files at once), it was also failing to upload three of the pictures for some reason. On top of that, you can't easily reorder the pictures once you have attached them to your message.
These problems clearly called for a heavier client app over the lightweight web app. So I downloaded Thunderbird 2.0 since I know it is free. I got it set up with my GMail mail account pretty quickly using the instructions GMail provides here. The whole process took about 10mins. It would probably take you less time since I know very little about POP/SMTP settings. I am not advocating Thunderbird over other services, I only chose it because I knew it was free. However, it does seem pretty easy to use. Anyway, if you are using Posterous instead of Flickr as your online gallery like I am, you should probably use some sort of email client in tandem with your webmail service since uploading pictures through a basic webmail interface is a pain in the ass.
