Sunny Days in Seattle

Yep, no lie, there are actually sunny days in Seattle.  Specifically between the months of July and August.   You might get a few in June and September but don't count on it.

We spent the sunny days this weekend in Ballard, Queen Anne and downtown Seattle.  We did breakfast this time at the Queen Anne Cafe after the line at the 5 Spot scared us away ( and my pizza breakfast idea fell through).  Then we tried to do a little bit of a study session down at the super-cool-looking Seattle Public Library but alas it was closed for Labor Day which is fine because we just worked outside at a Cafe Lladro.   Anyway, enjoy the pics...

UW in the Morning

Sitting on the steps of the Henry Suzzalo Library at UW in Seattle, listening to M83 as overcast slides into a slow drizzle. In all the time I was in Seattle I never really walked through this campus. It is actually really beautiful even if the weather isn't. Check out the pics I took from my phone.

I swear, camera phone blogging is totally addictive. Thanks Garry. Thanks Sachin.

The Continental

I've mentioned before how highly I think of Seattle breakfast spots.  One of my top 3 has got to be The Continental at 47th and University in the U district. My old roommate's brother (the jovial bearded fellow, pictured below) first introduced me to this delicious and inexpensive Greek diner.  The other old roommates have always been huge fans as well and then when I met my girlfriend, it turned out that the owners have been close family friends of hers.  So in any case, all of us strongly recommend this spot for breakfast if you are in town.  As for what to get, I would recommend the tomato/pesto omelet, girlfriend would recommend the spinach/mushroom/feta omelet, but in either case, you will have a delicious breakfast.

I ate at the Continental on Saturday morning, but I took these pictures when we went there for a second time on Sunday, after the epic NAFTA party.

Wedding on Whidbey Island

Last weekend, girlfriend and I took the ferry over to Whidbey Island for a wedding for one of her family friends.  As you can probably tell from the pics I took, we had a lot of fun and a lot of wine.
