Walstreetpro2

A hilariously incensed redneck with a Bloomberg terminal rants about the bailouts, the deficits and globalization while laying waste to a CRT monitor made in China.  Watch out, you may find there is some truth in his rhetoric.

Congratulations Joanna!

We are all extremely proud of my older sister, Joanna for completing Duke's prestigious Masters of Science in Nurse Anesthesia program this May. For all of her hard work, she was also awarded the Sigma Theta Tau Thelma Ingles Award for clinical expertise and scholarly activities. Joanna is now (very) qualified to practice as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist.

Here are the pictures of the ceremonies I took in Durham.

 CONGRATULATIONS JOANNA!!!

GM wastes more taxpayer money

Hey kids, the brilliant company that fought CAFE standards tooth-and-nail, brought us the super practical Hummer brand, paid expensive union workers for *not* working and that we are now paying +$50 billion to keep on life support, has a new shiny new advertisement you have got to watch!  Oh goodie.

This type of feel good marketing campaign just incenses me.  They start the ad by saying, "Let's be completely honest," and then there is no accountability in the ad for all the shortsighted decisions that led to their collapse.  Why won't they just admit it: eight different brands *never* made sense.  The cost structure *never* made sense.

Second, we taxpayers are paying millions for the development and broadcast of this ad!  Have they no shame?  If we are going to use $50 billion to subsidize the auto industry, why are we investing it with a company that has shown us time and again that they cannot compete?  Invest some of it with innovative companies like Tesla Motors or better yet, invest it in better public transportation so fewer people need cars.

Finally Got To See Lost Season 5 Finale

The last 5-6 weeks, I've been putting off most of my hobbies and interests (including posting to this posterous) to focus on the CFA exam I took yesterday.  Getting to finally watch the 2-hour season finale of Lost just now was especially satisfying.  Fade to white is a pretty intense ending, I have to say.

Looking forward to catching up on cooking, reading and the NBA playoffs tonight as well.

If you are in NY anytime soon, hit me up.  I have finally crawled out from under my rock.
