Jessica's mom and Charlie are down in California this week. Jessica has been swamped with her case so we have only be able to see them once so far yesterday. We were going to do a hike but I had something in the early evening so we just decided to be big tourists and check out Alcatraz. As someone fortunate enough to live in 3 great US cities, I have begun to appreciate simple sightseeing in my own city. We will leave SF for Seattle in the next 3-4 years and I would be disappointed if I hadn't been to Alcatraz during the 5 years of living here. Alcatraz had a lot of history. I didn't know that the guards families lived on the other side of the island or that Native American activists occupied the island in the 1960s. More than anything, I learned that prison life is horrible and that it is super hard to escape from Alcatraz. Except if you are Clint Eastwood. Then its pretty straightforward.
These are old from Super Bowl weekend. I went out on my buddy, Brandon's sailboat. No wind so we had to motor over to Tiburon. Plan was to watch the game from Sam's. We got the last 10 minutes of it. It was a good time. I hope to get out there again.
