CNN wanted Lou out

"CNN boss Jonathan Klein and Dobbs, 64, had been publicly feuding over the kind of reporting Dobbs was doing on his show -- especially stories about illegal immigration and the anti-Obama "birther" movement, which contends the president was not born in Hawaii and is not an American citizen."

Wow, if I never hear Lou Dobbs rail against immigration again, it would be too soon.  I remember when he was screaming about H1-B visas and demonizing Bill Gates for supporting them.  Highly-trained foreigners are a HUGE positive for our country.  They work hard, pay taxes and in many cases, get PhDs and start companies that create jobs for less highly trained domestic workers.  I agree that illegal immigration strains public institutions like hospitals, schools and police/fire departments.  However when Lou Dobbs naively suggests there are no benefits to immigration and that we should close our borders, he is either a liar or a Luddite.

Sunday Dinner at Pio Pio

Sunday Supper Club hit up Pio Pio in Murray Hill last night for some tasty (and quite inexpensive) Peruvian dishes. Everyone was surprised how good it was esp. the lime sauce. The best way to do this place is family style and they have about a dozen locations spread across the boroughs so it's not hard to find one nearby.

Dinner tonight in Mendoza. Got the steak again (surprise, surprise) and it was delicious... again. The little platter of meats we started with wasn't bad either, it had salted venison, salmon, pheasant and boar.

Viajando Por Mendoza

Very limited wifi access here in Argentina so I am just now sending out a post. Josh and I have done quite a lot since we got here including enjoying a little vino y queso this afternoon at the Di Tomassi vineyard in Maupi, just outside of Mendoza proper.

Going to Argentina Tonight

So after holding out all through summer, I am finally going on vacation.  Josh and I are headed down to Argentina tonight for 9 days of travel, but right now I am up at 5am trading UK inflation swaps.  Arrgh!
