Passion Pit

So I've posted about Passion Pit before; they were my KEXP mp3 crush back in December . I decided to revisit them this week after I saw John Richards played a track from their 2009 release, Manners, on his show last week. Whoa! This is a great album. I'm always a little wary about getting into what's popular in Williamsburg, but these guys definitely deserve an exception. Three great tracks, right here for your enjoyment. Very cool.

True Romance (1993)

Hat tip to Kingston Kobain, I finally saw True Romance last night and it is definitely the best movie I've seen in a long while (and I just watched Sling Blade for the first time last week).   While the poster says its a Tony Scott film, the Tarantino just bleeds right out of it.  It is QT's first screenplay for a major motion picture.  The plot is part love story part drug/gangster crime flick.  The cast is insanely good: Christian Slater, Patricia Arquette, Dennis Hopper, Christopher Walken, Brad Pitt, Samuel L. Jackson, James Gandolfini and Val Kilmer.  Hans Zimmer (The Lion King, Gladiator, The Dark Knight) provides a really cool sound track.  Here is the main theme on xylophone I think -

If you are a fan of Pulp Fiction or Resevoir Dogs , True Romance needs to go right to the front of your queue if you haven't seen it yet.
